We must rethink those harmful practices we do which affect the African children, especially the ones based on culture and religion.
Say No to:
· Underage marriage with the excuse that a certain religion permits it.
· Female genital mutilation because it doesn't prevent promiscuity as purported.
· Physical and verbal abuse in the name of discipline.
· Visiting a religious facility instead of the hospital when a child is sick.
· Labelling children witches and harming them for an allegation that can’t be proved.
· Child labour and trafficking.
· Forcing your religious beliefs and practices on the children
As Africans, there are other harmful practices which the children have to endure because our culture permits them but it's time to stop harming the children by doing away with those practices and securing the children's lives.
Remember to always keep the children safe, healthy and happy.
African Proverb
A child brought up where there is always dancing cannot fail to dance.
